Hula is often seen as a graceful story telling dance. A better description would be hula is an artistic sport. Requiring mastery of body movements and gestures. The exercises we use are designed to help build timing, coordination, and body strengthening.
There are many traditional hula steps as well as renditional ones, not to mention the potentially endless gestures that embellish each Hawaiian mele. Becoming a masterful hula dancer takes time and dedication.
Please be aware of your health condition and limitations. Malama kou ola kino.
